Welcome to the Xue lab (Lab of Sensory Neuroscience)

Perception of light not only results in image vision, but also modulates a number of biological functions that do not involve image formation, such as pupil light reflex and photoentrainment of circadian rhythm. Our lab is hence interested in understanding physiological characteristics and signaling mechanisms of photoreception, revealing neural circuits involved in this process and exploring possibilities for vision repair.

‖ipRGC in AD model‖

In Alzheimer‘s disease,there are many pathological manifestations in the retina which can be detected throw basic ophthalmic testing .We have been setting up the retina as a new model for early diagnosis of AD as well as an “eye window" to look into molecular and cellular mechanisms of the brain with AD.
